reserve tasting.

This layout was inspired by this layout I saw in the Studio Calico Gallery. I loved the stitched heart and random bits, but I'm not very good at "random"... so this is what I came up with.

This is another photo from our recent trip to NorCal. The Robert Mondavi Vineyard was absolutely beautiful. We took a the Reserve Tasting Tour and got to explore the whole facility. We had a great tour guide and happily left the vineyard with 4 bottles of wine!

I tucked the wine list and prices behind the photo. It'll be fun to look back on the prices =)

I did some masking/stamping for the polka dot heart and outlined it with some hand-stitching. I didn't have any alpha stickers that "matched", so I spritzed some Mr. Huey in Warm Calico over some white Basic Grey Micro Mono Stickers.

Supplies:
Studio Calico - Summer Camp + Sugar Woods Add-On
Studio Calico - Natalee Alpha Stamps
Studio Calico - Warm Calico Mr. Huey
Basic Grey - Micro Mono Alphas

Papertrey Ink - Ribbon
Tim Holtz - Pumice Stone Ink

Porto's Potato Balls!!!

Last weekend Phil FINALLY took me to Porto's in Glendale.

We got 3 potato balls to share while we waited for our sandwiches. He got the Pan con Lechon Sandwich (that boy loves him some lechon) and I got the classic Cuban Sandwich.

Oh! Everything was so tasty! We weren't able to finish our sandwiches, so we took them to go. Even though we were stuffed my brilliant husband was sure to get 6 Guava Strudels to go =). I love that man!

I know we'll be going back to Porto's in the (hopefully near) future.

sparkling.

Phil and I enjoyed a frou-frou lunch for two at Etoile at the Domaine Chandon Winery during our road trip to Northern California. Here's the layout I created:

I dressed up the Making Memories Butterflies with some stamps and stickles. I also used some stickles to accent the Crate Paper border sticker.

We had a great time on this trip, so expect to see more layouts with our vacation photos =)

worth the trip.

These photos are from our trip to China in December of 2009. One of our favorite parts of the trip was having sheng jian bao for breakfast every morning while we were in Shanghai.  Yummy!  Check out some of the google images for these tasty buns... you might find yourself booking a ticket to Shanghai =).

I can make that.

I saw THIS on etsy and fell in love. I looked in my craft stash and had all the materials, so decided to make a sleeve for my ipod touch.

Not nearly as polished as the one on etsy, but hey.. I'm no professional.

Check out some of the other amazing things in YummyPocket's shop:

Awesomeness.

proof: no photographic evidence of any of the empanadas. there's no time for pictures when there are these pockets of deliciousness staring you in the face.

iPhoneography Mini Book & photo update

I purchased one of Amy's kits for this workshop, but I wanted to try to make my own mixed paper mini book too =)

My book measures 6 x 6 inches and I plan on filling it with my favorite iPhone photos.

I used white DMC thread for a portion of the title and navy and white baker's twine for the binding. "iPhone" is stamped with Studio Calico's "Noah Alphabet" and heat embossed with AC's Metallic Blue embossing powder. I also used Studio Calico's "Doilies" stamps with VersaMark Dazzle Ink.

I love my iPhone and all the fun photo apps out there. Some of my favorite photo apps are ShakeItPhoto, Hipstamatic, IncrediBooth. This book will be a perfect place to keep all those fun and a lot of times random photos.

And...

Here are some better photos of the layout I did with the stitched title.

Happy Saturday everyone!

10.14.2010

gettin' stitchy with it.

Here's a layout where I used the stitching technique shown in Amy's online workshop.

This was a really fun technique and I'm sure I'll be stitching up a storm on other projects.

It was gloomy all day today, so the lighting wasn't very good. I'll be sure to upload better pictures to the workshop's flickr group =)

Hi my name is Diana...

and I'm addicted to making washi tape.

10.12.2010

Homemade Washi Tape!

Here are some of the homemade washi tapes that I made for Amy Tan's online class. I don't have any colored sharpies, so I used my "Souffle" gel pens (pictured below). They actually gave a cool sheen to my homemade tape. (of course you can't tell from the pictures because I'm impatient and took them with my iPhone)

I like to doodle, so this was a lot of fun.

Thanks for looking =)

**edit: see my post on 10.13.2010 for updated photos.
